  Post-Basic Diploma In Cardio Vascular & Thoracic Nursing Registered Nurse in KNCGNM/B.Sc. Nuring with one year experienceP.C. B.Sc. Nursing without additional experienceUpper age Limit - 35 years.
 
 FUNCTIONAL NEED OF THIS PROGRAMME

This programme is based on beliefs about critical care Nursing and nursing education. It is believed that a critical care nursing requires knowledge and skills in human relations, besides expert clinical knowledge, judgement and technical competency to be a skilful bedside Nurse. In order to assume the added responsibility of patient education and unit management, he/she needs to have knowledge, skill and attitude in teaching and nursing administration. It is also believed that adult learners need independence and so this programme uses educational theories where the teacher takes the role of a facilitator.

 
 OBJECTIVES
Review anatomy and physiology of cardiovascular and respiratory systemsPerform an accurate and systematic assessment of patient with conditions interpreting disgnostic, clinical and Lab data.Describe appropriate rationale underlying all aspects of care to the patient.Provide nursing interventions appropriate for management of patients.Independently initiate life saving procedure when a patient's condition warrants.Continue professional development through ongoing planned and informal strategies.Learn new techniques and clinical advancements Prepare the candidate to teach and train the upcoming Nurses. Develop leadership qualities to function in a Nursing unit.
 
 DURATION OF THE COURSE

The duration of the course will be approximately 52 weeks, schedule of which is :

  • Teaching - Theory and clinical practice - 42 weeks
  • Preparation for Examination - 1 week
  • Examination - 1 week
  • Vacation - 2 weeks
  • Public Holidays & Leave - 2 weeks
  • Internship - 4 weeks
 
 CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION FOR EXAMINATION

A minimum of 80% attendance in theory and practical.

Candidate should atleast obtain 50% of marks in both internal examination.

 
 SCHOLARSHIP AND ACCOMMODATION FOR STUDENTS
The students will be paid a Scholarship of Rs.1,250-00 per month and will be provided FREE accommodation on sharing basis, food and transport (to & fro between Hospital & Hostel for their official work) facility.
 COMMITMENT FROM THE STUDENTS


The Students have to submit their Original marks cards and KNC/INC registration certificates to the Institution.

The Students have to give a commitment of one year after successful completion of this Certification Course and the Original Certificates will be with the Institution till such time.

The Institution will take an undertaking from the Students for the above commitment and if any student breaks his/her commitment, they have to collect their certificates after the specified period only.

On successful completion of the course, the Students shall be absorbed as Specialized Staff Nurses at a grade and salary structure offered to the candidates who have three years of prior experience to joining Wockhardt.

 
 RULES FOR THE UNSUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES
 
The candidates who do not pass in the final Examination have to reappear for the Examination and after passing out only, they will be absorbed as Specialized Staff Nurse.
