RHINOPLASTY (NOSE RESHAPING)

It is recommended that before undergoing Rhinoplasty, patients wait until they are at least 14 or 15, and possibly older for boys. The reason being that nose may not be fully developed at a younger age. Your plastic surgeon will ascertain that you would want to change your appearance based on your own feeling, rather than your parents or friends. With the only condition of your good health, there is no upper age limit for having your nose reshaped. Often along with nose reshaping being performed, certain breathing problems related to internal nasal structures can be amended. Your plastic surgeon can guide you to determine whether the aforesaid structures should be modified along with nose reshaping.

The factors to determine whether you are a good candidate for Rhinoplasty are:

In comparison to your face your nose appears too large
A bump on the nasal bridge is visible when viewed in profile
When viewed from the front your nose appears too wide

Thickened or enlarged nose tip
Excessively flared nostrils

PLACING THE RHINOPLASTY INCISIONS
