Live Urosurgeries at unique workshop at WHKI

Delegates watch the live telecast of a surgery being performed at WHKI.

Kolkata-based Wockhardt Hospital & Kidney Institute (WHKI) organised a live workshop on Lower Tract Reconstructive Surgery in association with the Urological Society of India (East zone). The workshop was the first of its kind held in Eastern India.

Around 114 urologists and surgeons including department heads of government hospitals and post graduate trainees attended the two-day workshop. Eleven operations were performed at WHKI by eminent surgeons. Dr. Arunava Chowdhury, Senior Urologist at our hospital, was among the surgeons who performed the operations. Other key surgeons included Dr. M Bhandari, Director of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, and Dr. Sanjay Kulkarni, Director Hitech Urology Institute, Pune.

The surgeries were transmitted live from WHKI to Hotel Taj Bengal, where a panel of experts and the delegates watched the operations on large screens and interacted with the surgeons as the operations were being performed.

The delegates and the media were unanimous in their praise for the initiative taken by our hospital in showcasing the latest advances in Reconstructive Urosurgery.
