WHHI sets UP network of specialised diabetes clinics

A recent study suggests that by the end of 2005, India's IT capital Bangalore will have the largest diabetic population as compared to other Indian cities.

WHHI, our heart hospital in Bangalore, has launched its latest initiative to prevent heart disease among the community. In March, it launched the Wockhardt Diabetes and Endocrine Clinics at its Cunningham Road facility and at its associate hospitals in the city. Former cricketer Syed Kirmani was invited to inaugurate the network of clinics.

As more than 80% of heart patients are diabetic, the clinics will focus on preventing heart problems by preventing and managing diabetes.
