Dr.
Shastri has an experience in performing general
surgery and minimal access surgery since 1986.
After having worked as a fulltime surgeon in J.J.
Hospital until 1990, he undertook further training
in minimal access surgery in the United Kingdom,
with special focus on Laparoscopic surgery for
esophageal diseases like Reflux pathology with
Prof. A. Cuscheiri at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee,
Scotland.
He works at present, at Wockhardt
Minimal Access Hospital and has a large experience
in Thoracoscopy and assisted procedures for the
tuberculous disease of the pleura, mediastenum
and lung. He is also a associate professor of
surgery at K.J. Somaiya Hospital, where the bulk
of the practice revolves around tuberculous lung
disease.
Dr. Shastri is actively associated
with training programmes and has conducted several
workshops and seminars all over India. He is also
an overseas tutor for the Royal College of surgeons,
Edinburgh.
