She is a full time consultant and is one of the few trained pediatric cardiologist in India
with a background in pediatrics.

Graduating from Seth GS Medical college, Mumbai, Dr. Garekar obtained her post
graduate degree in Pediatrics from the Children’s Hospital of Michigan,Detroit,USA.This
Hospital is a large and busy hospital and has specialists in all fields of childcare. She did
a three year fellowship in pediatric cardiology from the same institution.. Thus she was
exposed to the latest management strategies of all possible congenital heart defects.
