Gallbladder Stones |

The gallbladder is a small non-vital organ that aids in the digestive process and stores bile produced in the liver. The function of the gall bladder is primarily storing of small amount of bile juice which helps the body to digest fat and fatty foods in the diet. When the concentration of cholesterol or fats increases in the bile juice it precipitates as stone in the Gall Bladder. Laproscopic procedure involves four small holes made on the tummy one of which is used to put a telescope in to look inside while other holes are used to put in instruments to free and remove the gall bladder with the stones inside them. |

Hernia repair |
| |
A hernia occurs when inner layers of abdominal muscle become weakened. The lining of the abdomen then bulges out into a small sac, and part of the intestine or abdominal tissue may enter the sac. Laproscopically three small incisions are made. One is used for the laparoscope which is attached to a camera that sends images to a video monitor. The other incisions are used to hold or manipulate tissue in the abdomen.. The defect is identified and carefully dissected and repaired by placing a mesh to cover and reinforce the weak area in the abdominal wall. |

GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) |
| |
It occurs when the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) does not close properly and stomach contents leak back, or reflux, into the esophagus. The LES is a ring of muscle at the bottom of the esophagus that acts like a valve between the esophagus and stomach. The esophagus carries food from the mouth to the stomach. In The Laparoscopy procedure the stomach is loosely wrapped around the intra-abdominal esophagus to create a new valve which prevents the reflux. |

Breast lump excisions are done on an outpatient basis where the procedure involves small cut which is made in the skin over or near the lump, or in an area where the scar would be less obvious and the lump is removed. Some times the lump and a border of healthy tissues around the lump is removed. |
